This image is taken in Vík at the southern most tip of Iceland. I have always wanted to have a shooting session here but never quite had luck with conditions. The whole southern coast is covered in black lava sand. The sand around Vík is especially black and fine grained. That combined with alot of interesting rock formations in the ocean makes this place very interesting and offers alot of good shooting opportunities.

This time I drove into gray overcast weather just before Vík. I decided to hang around and see if the conditions would change. And as often before, patience paid off and the sun managed to light up a thin strip of light behind the pinnacles. Not the most dramatic sunset I have seen but surely one of the most interesting.
