Might be just me (apparently, no other commentator) but this looks suspiciously like a corkscrew, especially remembering your vodka shot, eh, pardon vodka bottle picture. In vino veritas?

But, actually, I sympathize...

Good for you, Dave! I appreciate that you are going through a period of introspection--that's healthy.

Technical question...I assume you use electronic flash, right?

King Douglas  Well, I'll be darned. I wrote a long comment, then decided to edit it, but my edits completely replace my original comment. Now I don't have the energy to recreate all I had to say. Rats.
King Douglas  Trying to edit, but not managing it. I see the object is not lying on the plexiglass because of the specular highlight coming from a light below and behind the question mark. You've done a good job of suspending this without visible wires. I have a hunch that you didn't simply use Photoshop to clone out the supports.

David, The concept here is so perfectly clear which is so rarely the case with conceptual photos. I think you are expert at this, and I am pretty sure I asked you about how an idea (for another shot) came to you before. I remember your answer! So, in this case I think that the question mark is a great choice to represent hope - because with a question..all answers are possible. Certainly better than a period. I like the EYE/I...which brings it all together. It reminds me of the Greek eye used to ward off the evil spirits...mythology..which is also so fitting for your concept here. :) Congratulations. You might be a question mark but for sure your mind is working very well. My best, Phyllis

i like the concept..but is this a photo?
Dave Nitsche  Yeah, it's a photo. It was actually shot 180 degrees the other way. The question mark is actually a piece of art glass. I had a small stick with the eye glued onto it hanging down. I had to clone the stick out but other than that you see what the camera saw. thanks.
