This is a really great photo!
Correct me if I'm wrong, you didn't mention where it was taken.
It looks very similar to the Cattedrale di San Lorenzo in Genoa, Italy...

Gabriele Gaspardis You have a great eye. That is not Genoa but the Duomo in Orvieto (Umbria, Italy).
Goal of this photo is to show the strong contrast between huge permanent buildings and the fragile human existence.
