You got that street moment spot-on Andrew.
Hendrik
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks Hendrik.

So it was selected! And rightly so. Good energy here Andrew, although I do feel that a slightly darker rendition would have added to the dramatic appeal (especially gradiated towards the upper right). Then again, it is street, and the ingredients here overshadow the technicals. Bravo!
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks for your comments Andre. Im going to play around with the crop and tone a bit and will put that up on my blog at some point. Cheers again.

very good street shot, and a perfect timing.
the moment is captured correctly, and who cares about anything else, that is what street images all about.
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks for the comments Al. All the best.

I'm always drawn to the small details in street shots. The hat on the ground, the barefoot, the guy just walking by glancing but just going on with his life, the lady putting on a glove (a real testament to the generation this image was taken). Street for me is about capturing small moments that we all take for granted but shouldn't. Great shot Andrew.
Andrew Thatcher  Cheers Dave. Yes you are right lots of things i did not see going on when i took the shot.

Nice. If all the people shooting this were 1x members the screening queue would be full of coppers wrestling with this unfortunate ( in all sorts of ways ) guy for about a week!
Congrats on the publication Andrew
Andrew Thatcher  Cheers, yes he did sort of get "Papped"

Very interesting moment and street shot. My respect goes to the Peace Officers who risk their safety each day to keep the peace. I hope the man concerned is rehabilitated, is able to re-join society and finds a more productive way to finance his existence.
RICHARD20D  Do you really think that will happen Bob. In a perfect world perhaps and I'm with you before someone else gives me a grilling.
Bob Patefield  I've no idea Richard. That's why I said 'I hope'. Desperate situations push people to do desperate things. Cheers B.
nice shoot....

Andrew,

great stuff. I think it is a well timed shot

Chris
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks Chris. For someone who's shots take 1-2 mins Im lucky to get that :)

Well done though I much prefer the broader shot this looks slightly soft & overall overexposed. The shoe was lost in the struggle in the middle of the road!
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks for your comments Gerry. Did you pick those up along with the Bobbie hats?

Excellent Andrew.
Andrew Thatcher  Thanks Ricky.

That looks about right......5 cops to arrest 1 pickpocket.
You can never normally find a policeman when you want one....then 5 turn up at once.

Criminals are getting smart taking off thier shoes so you cant here them coming, or did he wake up in a doorway somewhere and someone had stolen them when he was asleep......Nice street photography

Regards Richard

gerard sexton  Richard of course you were not there & I imagine have never been arrested or in fact seen an arrest. I am not an expert but what I can tell you is one mans strength in his struggle to gain freedom can easily equal that of two men & his motivation to escape is exponentially greater than the policemans motivation to restrain him. At one stage as this event unfolded a motor cyclist & a taxi driver & a work man all stopped to help the two overwhelmed policemen struggling to restrain this man in the middle of the road.

I was there & in fact a woman standing close to the action had the self same question I bet if it was her bag or your wallet that was stolen you may be asking a different question!
RICHARD20D  Christ you take things personally. It was just a few words, I was not sticking up for the pickpocket or condemming the police. Dont read too much into peoples comments and chill out a bit mate.
And you have no idea wheather I have been mugged or not,or falsey arrested.
I was arrested by believe it or not 5 armed policemen and a policeman with a dog for going after 3 blokes who broke into one of my propertys. Locked up in a cell for a day and let out at 11.30 at night. And this is a guy who served his country in some shitty places that my goverment sent me so lighten up a bit mate.

Fancy judging me (Quote And I imagine have never been arrested or in fact seen an arrest.) You have no idea where or what I have seen in my life. I have been to countries where you would not believe what goe's on there. I was in Africa during Apartheid, also in Korea in the seventies, Croatia, Yugoslavia you want me to list anymore nice places I was in. Dont judge people until you know more about them.

Richard
gerard sexton  I am sorry you see it this way Richard I imagine is an expression not a statement of damnation I will refrain from thinking in future & rather ask before I proceed. Of course though the fact is if you had been there which although a contortion on your original "judgment" you would have seen the epic struggle & may have applauded the bobbies for doing their job. Still if I have hurt your feelings please accept my sincere apologies. By the way as regards to the shoes neither of your imagined accounts are accurate he lost one in the struggle!
RICHARD20D  I have sent the reply here by mistake so I have deleted it.

Wings  Andrew. In that case you did a fantastic job. Now I know you didn't see people in the street. You saw trees. :)))
