This is very touching prateek. To me, this is another fold of space AND time, dynamically frozen.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you so much Mina..

Happy it was published, but still the sound of music is missing.
Prateek Dubey  Thank you Al. Yes regrettably the sound of music is missing. So beautifully these singers mix the pitch by involving a young voice amidst their group. The person with the drum has the job to provide the deep bass like sound, while the others provide the various mid tones. Even more beautiful is their Sufi style where the love for God is like a lover's trance. Very similar to the Bhakti cult in Hinduism.

Hey Pra nice to see this published I listen to Qawwali music made by the supreme master Nasrat Fateh Ali Khan nice to see it more parochially & in much less splendid environment that I am normally accustomed too. Well done
Prateek Dubey  Wow! Gerard that's a surprise. I'm sure you must be understanding the language as well!Personally I don't listen to qawwali that often. My music tastes revolve more around Led Zepplin and Pink Floyd. But whenever I do, I enjoy it immensely. These guys are at a mausoleum of a sufi saint in New Delhi.
JulienC  probably Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia?
Mast Qalendar!
Prateek Dubey  Absolutely true Julien..
JulienC  yeh playkist try kartein hein

yeh hindustani islam ka mossiki hai. Qari Saeed Chisti playlist bauhot khoubsourat hai bai sahab. Yeh mossiki ke saat, aapko dil Janna jaoge :)
Aur musicians atcha bajate hein, Abida parveen, Sabri Brothers, Aziz Mian, lekin Nusrat bette hai.
oops, aapko tasvir atcha hai baijan! saturation torra zeada takaatwar hai...
Phir mirrenge, and excuse my broken hindi, I am french;-)
Prateek Dubey  Wow! That's more than broken Urdu. I don't know even broken french. You might be finding saturation a bit high because this was shot using an SB 900 which was fired from the camera right and had a 1/2 cut CTO gel. So overall, the picture is warm..
gerard sexton  .a minor point the music I listen to is in fact a western colaboration with NFAK & Michael Brook & is really a blend of electric western music overlaid on the Qawwali original it is very powerful.
Prateek Dubey  Which means I'll have to listen to that music. I've heard the 'Dead Man Walking' duet of Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan & Bruce Springsteen. It was very beautiful.
Furkan  I think, NFAK with Eddie Vedder ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-b33vOZKcS0 & http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pvxmVqLlZsg ) was also great in the Dead Man Walking OST but the peak of NFAK music is Haq Ali Ali (24") indeed.
Prateek Dubey  I will surely go through that Furkan. Thank you for your suggestions..
