Yes Harry, I was indeed in the water on my knees with my unprotected camera 10cm above the water. I was on my way in, as the sun broke through a small crack in the heavy clouds. I yelled at my friend to pass me by once more doing a toeside hand drag. (Something so simple that you can´t even say it is a trick/move). And there is was.

Being a kiter myself, it is easy to fall for only looking to shoot the difficult technical hardcore moves, that although interesting to other kiters often lack a general photographic appeal. I am proud to have made an image that has that general appeal, while still having an appeal to kiters as it shows an "aaah"-moment that every kiter can relate to.

Yes, that is good sports photograpie to me, you must feel the action, in 99% of all pictures you won't, and it's also not a mistake when it meets artistic aspekts too. :o)
