Great shot Stuart.

Love the color contrast and the way you've captured the Heron in sharp focus and the softness of the running water due to slow shutter speed.
Beautiful effect this gives to this most wonderful image.
Have been to Japan twice myself, but only in winter time for the Monkeys near Nagano and the Swans, Cranes and Eagles on Hokkaide.
