I'd dearly like to know how you edited this. It would be a great example for a PS tutorial.

There really isn't much PS involved here, I have used LR2 to do some small tweaks. A slight correction to the WB, exposure & some sharpening. I also cropped a bit since the viewfinder of my camera is not 100%.

The effect was created by shifting the lens...

Thanks! I didn't realize there were small format (35mm) lenses that could tilt and shift. That explains to me how you managed the effect and dof, but what I love even more than the shapes and lines are the colors. Just fantastic. This is the kind of image I'd expect to see on display in a museum's modern art exhibit.
