My theory is that people are more important than things and that a portrait is about people. Therefore, I have issues with this image, and I decided to write my comments because the image expresses the best what I believe to be a very objectionable aesthetical bias of 1x.com ? excessive sharpness.

While one can argue that the sharpness of the image reveals high skill of the photographer (and I acknowledge this), I question whether this image is about the girl, or about the details of the fabric. Sharpness controls eyes, and the intricate details of the cloths in the photo move the eye away from the face. I believe it is either ? or, and if I would have to define the genre ? it is textiles advertizing, something that 1x.com claims not to publish.

As a consequence, I would also crop the picture, deleting is bottom part. One would disagree with this if they reject my sharpness comment.

With all said, I acknowledge the skill of the photographer because the image as a whole deserves to be on the front page of a textiles magazine.
