Bottom and Top
To finish off my lakeside series of Sarah, I decided to go with two, more abstract shots. I try to challenge myself to move in closer when shooting my subjects. Often time’s people forget the details because they are so focused on capturing the whole scene. When in fact many times I find the most intimate and revealing images turn out to be those close detail shots.

As I am sure you can imagine, moving in closer was no problem here. My goal with these images was to try and use both selective focus as well as a tight crop to isolate the scene. Thankfully, she was a great model and remained patient whilst I struggled to find my angle.

I processed these together, running them through my trusty cross processing technique to try and achieve that great vintage film feel. Between the late afternoon sun and her beautiful glowing skin I really feel that the contrast and warming effect of the cross processing really adds something special to these images.

A great afternoon by the lake, complete with a beautiful model, all in all not a bad day if you ask me.

As always, I welcome your thoughts.

Good photo, and good use of collage! I think that maybe the green color disturbs it a little bit especially in the water. I'm not sure that the focus on the hand in the right picture, a greater dof could have been better. Especially since the entire person is in focus in the left picture.
Mark Fleming  Ralf, thanks for the feedback.
