It is well, but I think you need to improve the technical value. Convert to black and white is quite weak. Transitions are flat.

The theme is great.

Lovely balance of textures, tones and shapes and excellent use of fill flash. There seems to be tension present...anticipation? Good work.
Balazs Pataki  Tension? Probably a mutual culture shock. Business as usual... thanks my liege.

wonderful captured Balazs, specially how you managed the light!
Balazs Pataki  Some photographer believe fill-in flash comes from the devil and anyone using it must be burnt or exiled or shot on the spot for photographic heresy. I don't. :)

Hi Balazs

A wonderfull portrait, which for me stands out because of the background, and the rope that indicates the heavy load..
Lovely low POV...
Balazs Pataki  The rope was holding the basket on her back, in which there was her little brother. Dank u Willem!

Balazs,

Shining faces (in their own way), nice picture of the two.

Congratulations on another one!

Go well.

Colmar
Balazs Pataki  I'm very happy they look shining to you. I don't think much of that "poor but happy natives" stereotype but immersing yourself in another world makes you at least reconsider everything you have thought about your own...

Balazs Pataki  Thank you Fabio.

This is a very great picture for me! congratulations for how you did it! it goes directly to my preferences and for sure it will keep some memory in my mind as one of those images that always appear out of nowhere in your mind eye :)
Balazs Pataki  Lucky you. I have a picture of a certain young lady and her girlfriend in my mind and I wish I could spend 1 minute in 24 hours not thinking about them. :)

foarte buna
Balazs Pataki  Multumesc anicolas.
Strong picture and meaningful perspective. I like it.
Balazs Pataki  Probably the first and only time in their life when a man went down to his knees before them. Hopefully I'm wrong. Thanks Frank!

Glad to see your work on the PF again! ..and this image deserves it. As mentioned, excellent fill flash and the depth does make a difference here. OK, it was sunny, but the use of f/16 really puts us 'in the picture' here. I especially like how the girl on our right seems to be closer than the other one, and how she is leaning into the frame. For me that makes this double portrait all the more interesting and enjoyable. On the thumb the BG looks quite surreal, and on opening up even more so as there seems to be a giant elephant approaching in the back!
Balazs Pataki  That's actually an elephant. A huge white elephant :)

Emotion is perfect for Me .....
Balazs Pataki  It was a Kashmiri Shia family working in the fields, very happy to see a photographer. Especially after I gave them a half dozen of polaroids. I appreciated their serenity and lack of acting/joking that usually happens when taking people photos in India.

Oh boy. Mr. Balazs is taking no prisoners with this difficult shot head on and up close. What I like about this style of may Pataki has stashed in his camera bag is that he can feel the shot and make you feel as if you are their. I'm sitting here editing and Balazs just took me out of my world a few 1000 miles and if it wasn't for my coffee I'd be stuck there. Balazs Pataki you are a very dangerous real life shooter. After you the list gets thin. Great shot. and I do like how you dealt with all the elements.
Balazs Pataki  Dealing with the elements was easy. My driver held the rest of the family at bay by blocking their access to the photo scene with a jeep, and I took care of the remaining elements with a bulldozer (hence the piles of debris in the background). Thank you!

Excellent Balazs, is this also one from Armenia picture from you?
Balazs Pataki  Thanks and cheers Ricky, actually this is from a Shia village in Indian Kashmir (note the headscarves).

Balazs Pataki  The top button is overexposed. How yould I oversee that?... thanks!

Excellent work, Balazs, very well done, a sincere and beautiful image, I like it a lot!
Balazs Pataki  I don't want to sound self-flattering but I like it too, and I'm glad nobody objected the crop (which is the original frame anyway) :) Multumesc domnul.

Hey I voted yess for this one!

Good to know they all like this one, nice work Balazs!
Balazs Pataki  Many thanks Guido, it passed screening relatively quickly to my big surprise.

Fantastic and the background is great! i can see you used an aperture of 16... but what camera did you use? APS, FF or this is a Film camera?
All the best and congratulations!

Rockas K.
Balazs Pataki  Thank you. I used an EOS 5DMkII with 17-40/4, probably at 40mm, f=4 with 580EXII set to reduced fill-in flash.
Rockas Kane  Thank you for the info :-)

Nice tones for a "full sun" moment:-)
Did you also use a flash?
Balazs Pataki  Yes, I can't check the EXIF now but I'm 99% sure it was made with reduced fill-in flash. Thanks Ben!

Really nice. Strong intense expressions. Compositional delight too.
Balazs Pataki  The girls did me the favor of standing still for a moment, I'll transfer them the regards if I ever meet them again. Thank you!
Yes, indeed. I saw in critique, time ago... meaningful and with lot of strength. Congrats
Balazs Pataki  I don't remember having posted this in Critique but now that you say it, I'll check it out... if so, I totally forgot about that. Gracias.
Miguel Angel Pineda  No? I am sure I have seen this picture before, may be in other site... I have just checked and I am not able to find it in critique... :)

With both feeling and grace - beautiful as always. Congrats on this publication Mr. B. :) My best Phyllis
Balazs Pataki  Ehh, never thought of myself being all too graceful when lurching in the dust at the feet of two future Kashmiri beauty queens... ;)

good photo Balazs. up close and personal. did you use a fill in flash for this one ?
Balazs Pataki  Yes, if I remember correctly I used a fill-in flash. Thanks Kopi.

Very good Balazs!
Balazs Pataki  Thanks - I wonder if it'd be Honey or Dogshit ;))
Glen Ballis  Haaaa that was so funny last night... i was actually enjoying it as she really stirred the pot! I did a bit of a search on her today and she is only approx 26 yrs old so i guess 20 yrs of experience is little off the mark.
Any way this one has honey smeared all over it..... Well done!
Balazs Pataki  Really? I thought she's 41, at least she looked 41 in the photograph I could google up. Unfortunately we'll never know the answer to this torturing question...
