I've seen many, many shots of prayers at the Western wall (even made a few myself :)) but you made it different somehow. I think Andre has made a great point explaining it. Great work!

i spent long time in the western wall and i believe i understand it. its a shame i had to leave just after i understood it but i will be back :) to understand i dont mean from photography point of view but its essence and especially its essence for the jewish.
in my opinion ,understanding the essence comes before photography.

Looking at this again tonight, and so impressed by this. I especially like the way the main characters are so indistinct in features. Here you did not want us to look at a picture - instead we have to appreciate the significance of the setting. That is your creative freedom, and how you have succeeded in this image. I would like to explain the image and the title. For many years I studied and practiced meditation that is based on martial art. When I turned to photography I started to naturally show spiritual images. Army of god isnt about fighting or killing. It is about a devotion that has to have a military discipline. To truly follow a spiritual pathway takes a strong discipline and dedication. This image in the western wall in Jerusalem demonstrates both the spirituality and the discipline.
Just for those who are interested in my views :)

Another nice shot Sasson, but I have to say I prefer the first one, less people made it stronger imo.

Nice one Sasson, though I am not as crazy about this as some of your other shots, but still - a strong photo is a strong photo. :) Man, it's real sad to hear about the death of that man in your other photo.

yes its really sad... he passed away at 96 with full life and very active untill the last few months.. at 96 he walked a few km at my pace and had a strong handshake like mine and a clear mind.. very postive and giving man..
he is loved by many
i was asked to use the pictures to make some kind of memory for his friends
at least i have that for them

Superb image of these worshippers. The contrast, reflections and their dark and featureless attire make this so powerful. Great composition. I think this is my favorite of your Western Wall collection.
