I look at this one with such admiration-- for you because you have made such a wonderful, endearing portrait, and for her because I know she has made this bread her entire life and she still does it with great intensity and enthusiasm.
I hope you paid attention to your cooking lesson. I bet it is the best bread in town :)

Vlad Dumitrescu  Hi, Mandy!

In fact this is not quite a bread. Is a special kind of cake that is made only for Eastern. Together with a piece of cooked lamb and with colored eggs it goes in baskets to the church, in order to be consecrated by the priest. Only after that you can say that the Eastern fast is over and the family can enjoy a great meal.

I tried to pay attention, to the lesson! :o)

Lucian Muset  stii, imi aminteste de o povestioara: cica o doamna in varsta facea niste cozonaci deliciosi... o gramada de bucatari ii invidiau reusitele culinare si i-au cerut retetele... doamna le-a dat, fara nici o rezerva... dar oamenii au venit inapoi sa ii zica, ca, desi faceau exact ce scria ea in reteta, cozonacii lor nu ieseau la fel de buni... si au intrebat-o cum face.... doamna le-a zis: pai, pun toate ingredientele de care v-am zis, ma suflic la maneci si ma arunc cu toata Dragostea mea in aluatul acela... abia atunci au inteles oamenii ce facea femeia.... sper ca nu te-am plictisit, dar sa stii ca mi-a mers la inima fotografia....
numai bine!

Si cred ca tot Dragostea miroase in casa atunci cand se coace cozonacul, ca asa miros... mai rar!
