Good one Jacques. Always so difficult to get a framing in these trains, but you have done well to centre out attention to this man at the far end. He is so small in the frame, yet the way that you have presented him makes him stand out. I especially like his neutral look/stare which is a true reflection of how one feel's in this environment. Has a distinct 'street' feel to it. Well done!
jacques philippe  Thanks Andre. Indeed some people stand out in a particular way at given time. I guess it is the case for all of us, more or less briefly depending on mood and body language. This is my conception of being "photogenic" (as opposed to just "looking good"). I noticed this guy on the platform before the train came but did not really think about doing a shot. He was dead serious, but in a somewhat funny way, just like in the pic. It was a sunny day and most the other people looked and behaved differently. When in the train I happened to be in a good position to try out a photo, but it was by chance. He kept that very same stare all the time. I am not sure he noticed me doing the shot, though the photo gives the impression of eye contact.

Jacques - good to spot him..he looks straight out of the Mafia! :)Or maybe I am just playing Mafia Wars too much. This picture is a good microcosm of America! The diversity of race, gender, ethnicity, young, old, and more all lined up waiting for you! Congrats to you. My best, Phyllis
jacques philippe  A bit of the Mafia vibe, more in the stare IMO. Jon find him a Blues Brother look. Some diversity here indeed, as often in the subway. I think this shot was done the St Patrick day which is very celebrated in Boston as you know. I took funny shots of "green" people this day (which was very sunny).

very nice shot Jacques! Not simple to shoot in the metro..
jacques philippe  Thanks Fabio,
Not that simple indeed, and when "something" happens it is hard to have a decent PoV for it without being too much obvious. You need to be lucky.

Off to a Blues Brothers gig is he? Nice tube shot. Sums up the experience nicely.
jacques philippe  ... yes indeed, the BB look (was a big fan in my teens and used to play some of their songs with my mates, a lot of fun). I could not nail it but you did. Thanks Jon,

Very good work Jacques. love how it all leads to the man in the back
jacques philippe  Thanks a lot Koen,
Was it you who left the comment about "discovery", starting from the guy on foreground and then getting to the man with eye contact ?
KoPi  was me indeed :-)

Great shot! The guy with the head in the back makes it!

Robert
jacques philippe  Thanks Robert,
Indeed he has something special over the other, I could see that when I entered the train and was lucky enough to have a good PoV (it was rather busy as you can see)

Aaah, but did you use your 4x5 field camera and tripod? I figure you had the black cloth over your head for a blind to sneak up on these Blue Belly Wobblers and Sand Cranes nesting in underground.. It's a marvelous shot in a tight squeeze at that.
jacques philippe  Thanks Wing,
No 4x5 with tripod, and no cloth over my head. I have too much hard times to come up with decent quality pic for that... ;-)
