High Quality
As I said in my previous post, these guys were in excellent spirits. After spending some time chatting them up I soon discovered the reason for their unusual giddiness. Surprisingly, the fact they were lighting up not only on film but also in the middle of downtown Portland didn’t seem to bother them. Oh well, all the better for the picture I say.

I went back and forth on post processing for this shot. Originally I wanted to go with a more surreal HDR look, though after bringing it into Photoshop and throwing some pixels around I decided I wanted a bit more of a traditional feel. Here again I went with the de-saturation and high contrast to help bring out that wonderful gritty feel of the street.

I truly enjoy the mood in this image. I am not entirely sure how I would classify it, though; it certainly has a strong message. Most striking, though, is the connection between the viewer and subject, his gaze is somehow unnerving.
