A very striking image!! Just one observation though, it looks like a fusion of two images to me, one for the head and one for the body and wings? The DOF seems to go from sharp on the head and eyes to OOF just behind the head and back into focus again on the birds back, very curious!!!! :-). I like the result though ;-)

Very powerful shot! Just a question. How did you get two different areas sharp. Eye+forehead and in addition the back, but the top of the head and the nape are not sharp? The dof covers the whole range. I'm just curios, was it blurred in post-processing? :-) This would surely look good as a huge print!

All the best!

I'm impressed because this is the best example of what a Tamron lens can do. Its sharp with just the right touch of blur on the "WINGS", and your decision of when to shoot is outstanding in the Nature realm. I'm sure this skill carries over into everything you do. Cheers I'll try not to perch on a branch being that I might break it and would not want your natural skills to catch in in mid-flight down.:)
