I love these photos of yours,you let us enter the wonderful jewish feasts,I'm grateful for that.in my hometown there were many jewish people,but now they are just a few,it's a sad thing,I miss their culture,their music...

sasson haviv thank you my Friend!! growing up in israel i never saw these costumes that i see now.. i lived away for 10 years and this opened my eye and heart to love of different cultures.. i make these images as a way to show their life and faith but i can transfer only a small portion of reality... that evening with them was really beautiful... i love to visit their house and feel very welcome. Jewish culture around the world is changing so fast and here it is like a last reserve that stands against the western influence... i hope to show some more images soon

How those children are watching "deeply" what the adult does. I don't know how to express it in good english. It's really moving.

this family is great and they live very simply... these children grow up with tradition and so their children will as well... it is a shame that in western cultures (most of israel is western standard) so many traditions are lost

MMarie we, as adults in all countries, with all our cultures, should continue traditions, maintain and adapt them as modern/busy and too virtual life. Also the sad is that so many families had to go away for business, and they are too far to be together for celebrations. I feel sad for this as for so many other precious ways of living (being polite, saying hello, smile at the next person, saying "excuse me", or "may I help you".. I am frightened in our violent world. Your photos keep us into peace and respect... and ... to finish .. I love traditions. Thank you Sasson

sasson haviv thank you my friend !! good to hear from you although i wish for you and me that we will be more away from 1x due to traveling :)) wonderful that you got to go to Vietnam !! at the higher part top of my list :) i have made some decisions about photography and now i try to publish more here :) we will see if i can keep up the pace :) this is a great family her and good friends of mine :)

sasson haviv no presents my friend.. Hanukkah is so different here :) in the us 8 days 8 presents is because of Christmas.. here they eat jelly donuts play with dreidel and light the candles.. the children do get some pocket money sometimes. there is aa lot of singing and beautiful atmosphere. i never enjoyed Hanukkah like i did with them! there are 12 children in the family and they dont have much money but its a joy to enter their home...

Phyllis Clarke Yes of course, We have the Hallmark Hanukkah here ! Even electric candles.:) Two of my grandsons are Jewish, and so we have both holidays here...lucky kids. Next year I will try with Jelly donuts..:) Phyllis
