The Flysch
Known as "The Flysch" and located in Zumaia's beach Itzurun, it's one of the best places on earth to study the history of world's evolution. Almost 60 million years of history compressed in the rocks.

What an extraordinary and dramatic image! I like the perspective and the light. A little too HDR for my taste but the strong composition cannot be denied.
Javier Miqueleiz  I know, it may be quite controversial but the lack of grads at the moment made me take a couple of photos and create an image with a high dynamic range, but I think that the most important thing was trying to show the beauty of the rough, no matter with what technique. I've been some hours working on this photo because I also have doubts whether it was too much or not but...that's the final result I guess :). Thanks for your comment Sean.
Sean Reidy  Don't get me wrong. I really like this image. I shoot multiple exposures myself and sometimes use HDR but more recently have preferred to blend in Photoshop using layer masks for a more realistic result. This image is far and above the usual HDR images that I see. It is obviously HDR but its other strengths, the dynamic composition and tremendous dramatic perspective more than make up for that. I am filled with admiration.
Javier Miqueleiz  Thank you for your kind words Sean. I will try to use the method you mentioned the next time I find myself without the grads :)

hermosa miguel.

What a perspective:-))
Javier Miqueleiz  Thank you Ben! I had been for two hours or so walking in the beach, selection the position, looking for the best perspective to show the greatness of the Flysch and my best shot was in fact my last one :). I'm glad you've liked it
Amazing light and color, well made :-)

awesome Javier!

Is this HDR?
Javier Miqueleiz  Thanks Daniel. I could say it is, I didn't carry the filters (Auch...) so I had to play with a exposure for the sky and for the land, and then tweak the contrast, burning dodging and so on :)
