2nd look: There is a timelessness to this. I do not remember seeing a B&W 'mountaineering' photograph as special as this. The simplicity in the composition, with the gradient and lines, all the time realising the effort that must have gone into this - a picture that inspires awe. This one has 'winner' written all over it.
