...schlicht, dezent, ruhig. Ein Ort zum Nachdenken und ein Ort der Besinnung. Sehr fein wird das in Deinem Bild transportiert. All das kommt sehr gut beim Betrachter an. Ich bin dort und geniesse wenn ich mir da Bild von Dir anschaue. Sehr schoen.

Gruss Franz
John Parminter  Thanks Franz.
The feeling of been alone with his hobby is well expressed in the photo. Great shot John.

Very nice John! This images paints a fine picture of a great benefit found in fishing... the chance to be at one with nature.

Just as with photographers, the willingness be up early and the necessity to often be alone lead to the immensely valuable experiences of solitude and serenity.

And just as with fishing sometimes a photographer's best catch happens with total spontaneity.

All the best.

Phil
John Parminter  Cheers Phil, I am a part time fisherman as well so this image does have some resonance with me and probably why I chose to include him. I like the image and glad it is published here but I wouldn't say this type is my favourite style.

Its different John and stunning!
John Parminter  Pity you aren't going up Glen Coe this weekend Ian, I have just arranged a hasty trip up there this weekend with my mate, we're climbing a few hills around Crianlarich on Saturday then doing a big day in the Mamores, staying in G-C youth hostel overnight. I'll lug the light box around but it's forecast for snow, its already freezing in Aberdeen today.

Cheers,
JP

More meticulous work John
Really like your stuff. This one is quite different isn't it
Best Wishes
John
John Parminter  Thanks John, it was actually very spontaneous this as I had no intention to capture this fisherman but the opportunity arose so I quickly took it, if truth be told, it isn't really my style and I don't have too much affinity with the image but I thought for a bit of diversity that I'd see if 1X would accept it.
Cheers,
JP
John A H Jones  Your "fingerprint" was missing !
It was a surprise to see your name on it- great shot

Lovely tones, John. I love how you caught him fussing with his line rather than holding the rod in wait. The disappearing horizon on the left is quite effective too. Nice work.
John Parminter  I do have one of him a few minutes later when he settled down to this fishing but I thought this one summed up the patience needed and the time to spend enjoying his hobby.

Cheers.
Great shot!

I'm so glad you included the angler JP. I couldn't take another mysterious jetty projecting into the mist. Congratulations for not centering it and for not doing a long exposure and for not even thinking about a vignette. . ;-) Why does he need three fishing rods?
John Parminter  I think he needs 3 rods because he said he wasn't catching anything, the more the merrier likely...
John Parminter  Cheers Jon, some strange fangled camera settings as well to get this, ISO640, f/5 and 1/250s. It was a colour photo but almost devoid of colour so I went for mono and only a very slight increase in contrast overall in PP.

You may notice something peculiar in this image of mine, yes, a human thingy. I don't normally include them in my shots, far too unpredictable in my opinion but this young chap was intent on spoiling my scene so I decided that he should be part of it.....

:-))
