Lonely Crossing
On a foggy morning this car ferry crosses the Mississippi river with no cars onboard. The captain in the wheelhouse appears so small, alone and isolated on his ship. He and his ferry are disembodied from the world by the fog.

I like how the cold feeling of isolation is warmed by long morning light that is filtered by the fog.

Glad to see your picture made it.
But to be honest I can't see the changes you've made.

Lovely picture
Philip Orgeron  Thanks for the kind thougthts Willem. I'm glad you enjoyed this image.

PS I decided not to make any changes. The concensus seemed to be that the image was OK as is.

Firstly let me say that I really do like the mood of this shot, but I have to point out a couple of issues that let it down for me. There seems to be a lot of artifacts around the upper structure and railings, also the shot feels quite soft and possibly a touch over saturated [given the subject and the mist].

I can only comment on the shot I see here Philip as I don't have sight of the original and I'm sure that is fine and these are just resizing issues, but they do let it down at this size.
Philip Orgeron  Thanks for your considered observations. They are much appreciated. I'm glad you enjoyed the 'soul' of this image.

The post processing is indeed pushed. Sometimes this can be to the detriment of technical quality but if it allows the artistic merit to emerge I will push and push hard.

All the best.
sut68  Fair play to you, look forward to seeing more of your work.

All the best,
Paul
