John Parminter Thanks Nafiz, I just thought it a bit unusual to see so much water in the loch, the mist created a fair bit of atmosphere as well so I decided to capture it.

It is the harmony of lines that makes this shot stand out. The bands of fog are nicely complemented by the top row of piles, with the pier providing a great lead-in. I would have probably driven past this one not thinking twice.

Very cool shot, John, and I'm happy to see it on the front page! Judging from the weather and the hour of day this appears to be, you must have really earned this shot.

John Parminter You may be surprised John if I tell you it was taken at midday but in winter when the Sun doesn't rise too far in the sky. In fact I drove past, parked the motor about 30ft away and had a very easy time making this shot. Deceiving aye...?

This is a funny one for me as I equally like it but at the same time think there is something awkward about the composition. Usually I would have just taken a straight shot down the jetty but I felt at the time that this angle felt right. I'm unsure about it now for it's harmony and it was mentioned in screening which I can understand.
Anyway, I have to live with it as it's the only shot I took looking down it..... :-)))

ist das nicht die gleiche Location wie auf Deinem letzten Bild auch? Eine wunderbare Stelle die hier in der Morgenstimmung (vermute ich mal) die Kuehle und Feuchte sehr gut transportiert. Fein gemacht. Wunderschoen. Und auch noch: ein gutes neues Jahr.

John Parminter Hi Franz, yes it is the same location but just looking a different way. It was actually taken at midday but in Winter so the light was low, very filtered and diffuse to make it appear taken early morning.

You'd be surprised, occasionally I have to delete whole memory cards as the results have not been worth processing, occasionally I come up trumps with a reasonable one.. ;-))

John Parminter Hi Siavash, no, I'm not interested personally in taking any other types of images, I only bought my camera specifically to see if I could capture some of the beautiful scenery that I regularly see when outdoors.
