Dead Heading
Thanks to Robert for picking this out of my trash. And to critique for all the help. As suggested, I changed to a more obvious title, reduced the highlights in the window, increased the definition a bit to help encourage the "antique" look with more pronounced grain and adjusted the micro contrast sliders a bit to make the blacks more black and the whites more white and thus ever so slightly then cause the face to pop a little more in the absence of dodging it...while still keeping the smooth tones of the shadows and low light. No other cropping really worked. So this is it - the longest ever edit by me for any shot. :-s

So glad this one made it....you did an excellent job fixing all the scratches.
Richard Ford  Thanks. As I mentioned in the text, I wasn't going to bother if it wasn't for Roberts urging..
Faddoush  it is good he did....this photo has something about it.

Nice work Richard--glad to see this here finally! Your efforts paid off.
Richard Ford  ta John.

great work Richard. sometimes one has to make some photos, not just take them. I don't like it to often but this one is whorted.
Richard Ford  Editing and cleaning up is fine. Even a small clone. I don't have a philosophical disagreement with doing so really. I just can't be bothered in 99.9% of the cases. It is either OK or not. Hence why I had already scrapped this one.
ris  same here. can't be bothered and lot that I don't know how either:)

really great shot!
Richard Ford  Ta Moses. I wish I could capture how surreal it felt at the time. An air hostess on the train, tired and run down... I felt the same way exactly that day. I even had to change hotels that day as I extended my stay in HK but my hotel was fully booked and had to lug stuff around as well. I hate travel (for work). I don't know how these ladies keep it up.

You did very well to mention Robert anyway. He is one of the persons giving very very good advices.
I liked very much this version, and i'm very happy to see it published.
Richard Ford  Well it is a joint effort then. I needed him to help me sort through my current staleness.... he has a good eye indeed.

Don't knock it mate ;-) it was certainly worth it. Good one.
Richard Ford  Thanks John. Someone mentioned in member screening: "to mention names in " photo comment" is influencing, sorry."

Well I had to. This is really more a 1X photo than mine. I had passed it by already. So I can't take too much credit at all.
