Andre du Plessis  Things like that really make me think that I should invest in something smaller, so now that the compacts with large sensors are appearing to come onto the market, I might get myself an early X'mass present. Had he looked up to see a Canon trained at him, things could have been different.

Great work Andre - as all of your photos !
Andre du Plessis  Thanks for that lovely vote of confidence Cheron!

Hehe excellent Andre, your newer photos combine sublime light and tones with a humourous touch. :)
Andre du Plessis  Hey Alex. Yeah, I have to agree on the humour bit. Fun, but not quite me. I guess that it will be some thime before i can find myslf again in this street walking trips. However, saying that, I did do my 1st portrait of someone in the street on Sunday, and am working on that now. Maybe, just maybe, this will be a turning point for me, and the long lens can stay at home again. Thanks for your observation
Alex OBrien  Best of luck Andre, do whatever feels most natural.

Andre du Plessis  Thank you Codrin. A bit unplanned, but managed to scrape through..:) Andre

That's probably the funniest photo you have published so far. It mades me grin from ear to ear. Thanks! :)
Andre du Plessis  Hi Balazs. Good of you to say that. Maybe I should have submitted to humour instead of everyday. Much of a muchness, anyhow.

This photo has again that certain something - as all of your photos :-)

Andre du Plessis  Thank you Thomas. When you know - let me know please:) I can only gain from that objectivity. Best wishes, Andre

I like it very much (I find it only a bit too black, especially around the man's hands and shirt). Congrs!
Andre du Plessis  Hi Paulo. This was the tricky part here. I wanted to emphasise the side lighting, and therefore shield this side of him. The image felt a bit 'thin' and I did have problems with dark clipping - still a bit on his arma. However, also wanted to shield the logo on the shirt. I agree with you, however, I think that the darkness of the shirt would not have been so pronounced if I darkened some parts of his head a bit more (which I should have done...) Appreciated, Andre

Excellent work Andre well seen & wonderfully composed.
Andre du Plessis  One of those unplanned captures Gerry. Just down the road from the Walkabout we went to. Regards!

5D MII and B&W and high ISO and lowkey and a little nude and YOU...so that the resault is perfect.Congrats...
Andre du Plessis  Much appreciated Murat! Was not really having a productive photo walkabout at the time. The 'powers' left me, so went to get filled up at a small cafe, and saw him after I paid and was leaving the place. He sat at the door, and the light I could resist.

Okay, okay - you made me zoom in I was nosy I admit it. You have just enough of everything here...light - subject - comp. As always well done Andre. My best, Phyllis
Andre du Plessis  ...and so does she:) I have to stop reading the boring Guardian:) Many thanks Phyllis!

i voted for it but i had no idea it would be from you Andre. Amazing shot, i'm glad to see it here!
Andre du Plessis  Hi Nicolas. The content was a bit unplanned (see below), but nevertheless glad to have caught you off-guard. Thanks!

nice lighting
Andre du Plessis  Thanks! This side/back lighting was what attracted me to this scene initially - the page he was looking at was purely coincidental.

Andre du Plessis  Thanks Robert:) Well, I did not want to shock you too soon, so had to start with something mild. Hopefully my future models won't be so flat...pant, pant!
