looks like it moves !
Lars Grepstad  You're right! If you stare at it from short distance it looks like it moves. Never noticed it. Thanks for the comment Carlos!
Carlos Coelho  you're welcome :)
shame on me, but I was vast asleep...
Lars Grepstad  Thanks for the comment Frederick! I think that was taken a while before you came to Norway. It's from 1990-91. But, this year seems promising for aurora, if we could see through those clouds..

Lars, there is a movie , I guess from the eighties called "local hero". Burt Lancaster is one of the actors. It shows lots of nice views like yours. I love this movie although it is a quiet one.

great photo.
Markus
Lars Grepstad  Thank a lot for the comment, and for coming back to it.
I thought it had to be a movie, but haven't seen it. Maybe I should?
onesixright  Well, don't expect a lot of action but it shows nice views from nothern Schottland and funny situations aswll as characters. The screenplay comes from Mark Knopfler (Dire Straits).
Try it out.

Regards
Markus
Lars Grepstad  Sounds like my kind of music too

very nicely done Lars, I very much enjoyed the your first one to. I've placed this in my nature folder, i feel it sits there better than Landscape, Nature like this and the magnificent vistas that it has to offer can not be matched by man. mal
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the nice comment Mal! Very much appreciated! You're right, it should probably been in Nature. Feel free to move it if you want to.
It's hard to match nature. I'm getting reminded all the time, at work, and at home. Last days I've been thrown around in a small speedboat photographing sea kayaking. The advanced guys, doing rockhopping and serious surfing. We're small out there..

Incredible, dream like, perfect.
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Alex! I was wondering a little about the format, quite high..
Alex OBrien  Lars, I'm not one for vertical crops, mainly because they don't fit on my screen, but the format offers a great sense of scale and majesty. Keep it as it is. ;)

A very beautiful image, Lars, wonderful moment! Love it!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Codrin! Everybody should see this, and Norway is probably one of the best places. Far north and not really that cold.
I like the silhouettes in the foreground, great exposure! What film did you use?
Lars Grepstad  It was Ectachrome, I'll have a look at which one when I get time. Busy kayaking and photographing kayaking. The biggest kayak happening in Norway goes on just "outside my house". Thanks a lot David!

Waw, must be a fantastic experience to see this irl. Wonderful capture Lars!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot Tim! Yes, it was beautiful, but it don't happen often here. Just have to remember to glance out the window to the north when it clears up. Hopefully next month, if it at all clears up..

Beautiful shot with that magic Aurora Borealis.
~ Carola ~
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the nice comment Carola!
Beautiful. It's one of my dreams to see an Aurora with my eyes in real!
Lars Grepstad  Thanks a lot for the nice comment Kaveh! Its time for Northern light soon, but if you want to see you better go further north than I am. Here you would need lots of luck.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Well, I'm thinking about a journey to north Scandinavia in winter. All depends to my pocket ;-)
Lars Grepstad  Yeah, Norway can be hard at your pockets. A meal at a restaurant might cost a good day's salary. Transportation is not that bad I think, or am I just getting used to it?
Stop by if you go up the west coast when I'm home.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  I've been in Norway in summer 2007. Actually all four Scandinavian countries, but mostly Norway and reached the Nordkapp. My credit card is still suffering after over two years. Getting drunk and smoking is almost impossible there :-))

I for sure let you know when I get up there. Thank you Lars :-)
