The reader

The boy was so intensely concentrated on the book, nothing could distract him. I only had a compact camera with me (to be honest in a waterproof case) Sharpness is maybe not as good as it should be, but I like the feeling in this shot.

I am not sure what you mean when you ask "Has the boy a attitude at his arm?", maybe you mean a tatoo? Yes, the boy had a "tatoo" on his left shoulder, you know, one of those that you get together with candys, you wet them and put them on the skin.

Excellent framing, in terms of the boy being cradled in the window frame, and the crop. I like the composition. I like the soft shadow the boy is in, it adds to the cradling feeling.

Aldo Bolle Thank you Vinh Pham. The street where I shoot this photo was just about 3m wide and the light was indeed very soft. I was lucky to be there at the right time and with something I could take a picture :-) Thanks

I LOVE the atmosphere in this shot! The hues of blue, the shadow cast on the window sill by the windows... it almost feels like I can step into this scene.

I saw this in screening & I am certain the original had more of the surroundings which I thought let it down as it is now it really sings. Well done.

Aldo Bolle Thank you Gerard! actually the picture is still as was taken, uncropped. I got a suggestion to sharpen it, but editing it, I realized also that the colors were not as they should be... and this is the result of white balance+contrast control (besides sharpening)

Thanks to the OE screeners and community for the suggestion to improve this photo!
