This bring back beautiful memories from our trip to Morocco. We have not been to this part and I would not mind going again visiting Chefchouin, Fez and other northern towns.
Mandy Schoch  Ahhh yes, I hope you do go back, Herman. Morocco is an extraordinary country, isn't it. Keep El Jadida on your list.... I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

the fabulous place where Orson Wells made part of a movie
Mandy Schoch  So true, Jovelino. I didn't know that until one of the locals in El Jadida told us. Thanks for that.... happy to hear from you :)

Beautiful, peaceful image Mandy - though the architecture is utterly foreign to the Australian country farm buildings I grew up with, the reflective peace you've captured here takes me back to that time. Great work.
Mandy Schoch  What a lovely comment, TJ. Thank you for telling me that. I'm happy to know this sparks peaceful memories for you. So interesting that a photo, even of an unfamiliar place, can do that, isn't it?. I love that about photography.

So jealous of this architecture! You have made a wonderful, almost magical exposure here.
Mandy Schoch  There is a mystical aura in this cistern that is impossible to describe in words. I am happy to read magical in your comment, Reathel. That means the message came through in this photo, and that's so great to know. Thank you!

what an awesome shot Mandy !! I love old historic places !! I love the light beam and how it reflects on the water with its mirror image, youve got nice light still illuminating the rest of the walls so I can see detail all around and its perfectly composed and lined up, very nicely done here

Portuguese architecture in his best. Loved the photo.
Mandy Schoch  I absolutely agree with you, GrENDel. And to think that all of that effort and intricate detail was put into building such a structure that was never even intended to be seen by anyone. It was constructed to simply catch the rain. Amazing. Thank you.
grENDel  Indeed. Thinking about how Portugal was so big around the world a long centuries ago, and now is so small. But they left they´re legacy in so many contries, and so I think is an important fact. A curiosity, Portugal own one of the two chapels in the world, that the structure is made of human bones. It is located in Évora, Portugal. As a photographer as you, I think it is a nice place to go to. Regards.

I just love the symmetry and lighting of this scene, a really great job.

Also, kudos for not going cliche and making it B&W, it's so much more interesting in colour.
Mandy Schoch  Thank you, Pocket Universe. I must admit, I barely gave a b&w conversion a thought. The room is so full of aged colors and tones.... I couldn't possibly strip it of that beauty.

This overwhelmed me in screening, totally - What a masterpiece, i lift my hat for that! Could sit in front of it for hours. The light, the textures, those reflections, the place itself, so deep!
Mandy Schoch  Sven, thank you so much for your truly kind words. I'm honored that you like it. A remarkable place to visit, sit very still and soak it all in. I stayed until the sun went down and watched the beam silently fade away. It felt as if a hum in the room just suddenly stopped. There are some places in this world that are almost too special for words. This one ranks high on my speechless list.
Sven Fennema  I really can imagine this, and i can feel it from the picture, looking at the picture and wish i were there :)

What a coincidence !I am going to visit EL Jadida in October and I was wondering if it is possible to take pictures with a tripod .I guess you are the right person to answer my question.
Your shot is gorgeous .At what time did you shot it ?
Regards

Beautiful "cathedral".Well exposed in what seems to be a difficult set.
Mandy Schoch  Thank you very much, John. Wasn't the easiest of places to shoot, but I spent a lot of time there watching the sun ray move through the course of the day. Truly a spectacle. By the way, I've been enjoying your poor little ant this week!
