Passage of Time
I did 12 x 5 min exposures and only 7 were ok as the lens fogged over and i didn't realize till i was finished. I blended them using a stacking action in PS and merged the finished file with a separate exposure where i had done some light painting on the dolmen using my torch.

cool! maybe to much saturated!! regards!
Gary McParland  Thanks Alex, didnt really mess with the saturation on this one. A couple of cars drove past and there was a bit of artificial lights at the end of a lane off to the right. thats where the light sources came from on the grass. Was pitch black in reality.

Impressive technique Gary and the patience, I'd have given up way before I got any reasonable results...!

Gary McParland  Thanks John, took me 2 hrs all together including test shots to find the polar star and correct exposure. Very cold and the ground froze around me as i sat there. First time doing this so quite pleased with it.

Very cool. I've been looking for a place like this where I could combine star trails with light painting but haven't found anywhere as exciting as this location. Wonderfully executed as well. Do you usually use the long exposure noise reduction feature of the camera when doing star trails?
Gary McParland  Thanks Pedro, i didnt bother with the noise reduction as i was only doing 5 min exposures at a time to stack later which helps keep the noise down.
