Óptima, Rui! Parabéns e um abraço, Luis.
Rui Pires  Obrigado, Luis :)

Jorge Goncalves Silva   Concordo contigo Rui !!

That look of indifference, excellent shot Rui, love it!
But...... colour? ;)
Rui Pires  Yes, my friend, in color. 2 reasons, i do not like to convert from digital do B&W, and i think this color tones do not "fit" in B&W. Please save it in your disk and try to convert. I have some photos in B&W film taked after and before this one, and i thing are not good. Thanks Mr. OBrien :)
Alex OBrien  Just joking Rui, merely surprised to see a colour shot in your gallery. :)
I agree, a normal bw conversion does not really work. With a lot of Photoshop it can look OK, but I don't really like that style of photography. Nicer in colour! ;)
Rui Pires  You are right ! :) I´m essencialy a B&W photographer in some kind of photography, like my "rural moments" project, but i have millions of color photos also :)
Alex OBrien  Rui, final question I promise, if you intend on shooting a scene in black and white on digital camera, will you set it to b&w?
Rui Pires  Never, Alex. Never use BW mode of your camera, because you can do a bether job with your edition software, your PC and you have much more brains then your camera processor. If your camera have RAW mode, and in RAW mode you can use BW, because you can see in LCD imediatly the result in BW, but your RAW file is in color, and you can process it in your photoshop with much bether results. The JPEG BW mode in all cameras is crap :)
Alex OBrien  Thanks Rui, I would never use it, just asking if you did, but maybe just for the challenge of seeing in black and white. I would like to try film photography one day I just thought it would be a similar(ish) experience. :)
Rui Pires  I can see in black and white, Alex. Don´t need camera. Learn to do the same and you will make great BW photos ;)

2 fellows in their job. You made excellent shot about their talking.
Rui Pires  Dragan, this men didn´t talk neither can listen since he was born ... I know when we look to photo give us ideia he is talking with cow, but he is only smiling :) thanks very much for your coment :)
Dragan M. Babovic  Thank you. I had on my mind this motto you wrote "I tell a little bit of my life to them, and they tell a little of theirs to me. The picture itself is just the tip of the iceberg" So, I saw this in this picture as a good example.

Rui Pires  And you saw very well. Me and a friend have spended some afternons with this poor man, sitting in mountains with his cows, just smiling each other, and comunicating just with hands and expressions. Not good at all know some of this days that at some time ago, his family sell all his cows and poor man is very sad now :(

oh dear Rui, I saw this beautiful photo in the screening queue, and I was already fascinated by the scene here! and it is so emotive with this old man full of love to his cows! this is a very sad captured moment for me, as I can see how hard it is for him to feed his cows! Thank you for sharing the life of Elder in Portugal! I can see by your photographs that there is no young people around but only Elders are left! sad situation in every countryside in the world! very very sad :(
Thank you
Rui Pires  As in other places in world, young people left this places very soon, Biliana. It´s why rural comunitarian places are disapearing, Biliana. Someday, the only option to young people see this moments is in photography. I want to give young people that possibility in future :) Thank you !
Biliana  oh, you are so right dear Rui, unfortunately :( but I think that after sometimes, the young will be forced in some way to go and cultivate the land, otherwise we are going to starve :( well, this is a beautiful way to immortalize this past ... Thank you Rui ;)
Rui Pires  In fact, i read some tesis where some respected sociologists defends that in a near future will happen a oposite of the rural exodus, and lot´s of people left big citys. But i´m afraid they don´t know anything about land and rural work ... :)
Biliana  Yes dear Rui, I have heard the same thing :) they will learn fast on a hard way ;))))) me too, I am very much tired of my big city so ... lol
One more...GREAT! I knew it!
Rui Pires  Obrigado, Carlos :)
