House On Fire

While shooting the sunset at an old, decaying house, I was treated to incredible color and cloud formation. A little movement with my tripod made the house appear to have flames pouring out the roof. Very little saturation adjustment was needed for this image - the color was provided by a very cooperative sky.

Was this HDR, or just two layered exposures? Very well done, either way.

mm767cap Thanks Lars. It's just blended exposures. I tried it as an HDR, but it got strange on me!

mm767cap Thanks John :) It's definitely a little more "whimsical" than your typical landscape. :) The colors in the sky were pretty incredible, and are very close to what you see in the RAW file. The house, however, ended up quite dull as it was backlit and the whole area was quite, well, brown. It just looked flat when I processed it originally. So I thought I'd try something different and give it the Disney treatment. It was kind of fun trying something a little different. :)
