The topi is "the national cap" of Nepal. The Nepalese men wear it proudly, especially on formal occasions and during celebrations. It is said that the shape of the topi resembles the most significant landmarks in Nepal: Mount Everest and Lhotse, and for that reason the front top corner should be slightly higher than the back...

Great image. This is the first 1x published picture I saw about Nepal :). The cap is called "dhakka toppi," and the shape indeed resembles that of the mountains.
