'...I'm over here, you silly....'

I can only assume that a concerned Adean in the back had no clue how wide a focal lenght of 32mm can see.
After all, he heard me saying that I am taking a picture of 'both' of them.
I didn't tell him, either....:)

She greets me every day you realize. She is there on the side of my Account page..and I see her face..I wonder if she knows..:) Phyllis

Andre du Plessis Dear Phyllis. She might not know now, but next week she will when they get their prints. And even if she is too young to fully comprehend, her uncle Jerome will tell her in the years to come...about this lady called Phyllis from America that asked about her.
Just one catch...she is actually a him. His name is Poen, and he is another natural in front of the camera. I won't tell him that everyone thought that he was a girl:) Then again - I guess he stands to blame with his wild hair...
Please send a short very basic hello through OE mail to Poen (in front) and Adean(in the back). I wish to print this out and submit it together with the pics. Nothing will get them more crazied than receiving word from so far away, and a place that they have heard of more than anywhere else. The headmaster also requested copies for the school album.

Andre du Plessis I guess that we all have cutie shots of children, so this is not something that OE is very keen to publish. With these common themes the requirement has to be outstanding composition and/or outstanding technical considerations. That is a fair enough requitement in my books, and I have no problem with that.
The guidelines under "about' is quite clear on this matter.

Polonaise You know what, Andre ? I like that attitude - tremendously.
The world is flooded with the myriads of the most silly fotkas with the children in them and the restriction and highest quality demands are more than welcome on any self-respected photo site.

THEY SHOULD BE !

And, i think your photo fulfills those considerations in the utmost pleasant way.

Andre du Plessis What you are saying is that the content might lack, or the pic is too cute. I agree, and that was a concern before upload. However, as much as I would like to get a more mature compo, when you see these kids you simply want to shoot them the way they are. Yes, and they are cute, without the tangles that our city kids exhibit. They smile, and cry, and play. That's it.
Engaging them with a toy, or getting them to be fixated and transported into an activity that holds their attention will be my next mission. Racking my brain to think of ideas, but shall inevitably be leaded by what happens right there and then. Hopefully meting with Ollie Oberholzeer soon to talk to him about bring in more flexibility and variation in portraiture, without having to change the style that I am comfortable with.
