I had a lot of luck to be there at that time. The show was finished after about 1 hour.
I guess many photographers dream of one day taking a picture like this. The left strike looks like an evil giant threatening the village. Congratulations to an incredible photo!

Przemyslaw Wielicki  I have a feeling, that thunderstorms in mountains are more violent and stronger than down, on a lowland... anyhow I was a witness of a great show of the Nature.
Timor Tom  Is hard to tell, storm could be violent anywhere, however, in mountains thunderbolts reveal much more interesting skyline.

I was about 2km from this strike. Generally this storm went in front of me, not above me, so conditions were perfect.
But 2 months ago, lightning hit and completly burned small shed, which was 30m. from my point of shooting! Three firebrygades were on the go to stop the fire.
Paolo Giudici  2 kms are not that far. The storm moves quickly. You were out with cameras, tripod, etc. Not a relaxed situation. You are a great & audacious photographer!

My biggest worry was, what to do with memory card not to get lost everything in case of close strike :-)
