or....when the music is over....
sad, appealing photo !
King Douglas  Darn! That's a much better title. I just couldn't think of anything better when it was time to click the "Submit" button.

Thanks very much, barbara.
barbara  :)
Timor Tom  Hi, title should support dramaturgy of a photogram, not create it. Image has very interesting motiv , three-dimensional structure and eye-pleasing curves. Nicely kept DoF. In this size I can watch it the contrast is a bit to harsh. Did you processed it in darkroom, or scanned the film ?
King Douglas  Hi, Timor. I still like Barbara's title better...I simply think mine is dull.

I don't know why the published 1X illustration has more contrast (when viewed on the same monitor) than the shot as uploaded, so I agree with you.

My photo lab processed the film (normal development) and I scanned it using my Epson V750P.

Thanks very much for your comments.

Nice sir, a new one?? The aspect ratio and detail speaks of medium or large format.
King Douglas  Good guess, Clyde. Yes, Ilford 400 4x5 b/w but not quite full frame. I was wanting to try the new Kodak TMax film but my local camera shop didn't have any in stock.

This is a planned shot, taken on a tree stump near my home, but by the time I got down to it I wasn't so sure it would work, so just made one exposure and got lucky, I guess, with my first (I think) published still life on 1X.

Thanks very much for your comment.
Clyde Beamer  Did you develop yourself and did you scan this yourself with that Epson V750??
King Douglas  I don't have any developing tanks, but I'm thinking about investing in some. My lab processed this...normal developement. I scanned it with my V750P at relatively low resolution as I knew it was only going to 1X at this time and 4x5 film scans can get very big very fast.

Thanks again.
