Andre this is absolutely stunning, work to be proud of! I didn't have you for a grain fan. ;)
Andre du Plessis  When you peel back the layers I am all dark inside:) No honestly, big fan of grain (better looking than mine above), and
somber tones. Off course...that very much depends on the subject.. Thanks Alex!

I Love this Andre. It looks like it could have been taken 100 years ago.
Have you ever seen Don Mcullen's landscape work? Dark in an interesting way.
Andre du Plessis  Thanks for that Jon. That makes me feel good. No - I have not seen his landscapes, however, have read up about him
now, and cam across this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio3/johntusainterview/mccullin_transcript.shtml
I tried to see some of his landscapes of Somerset online, but no luck. Shall go hunt down 'Open Skies' at the book store now. Thanks for the pointer, Andre

What a landscape-shot! More than just beautiful!!
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks Anja. I worked it a bit aggressively, especially in the centre, and shall with time adjust that a bit (just one layer that needs a tweak). However, surprised and very happy to see my (only) landscape up here. Andre

Andre du Plessis  Much appreciated!

It's look like the start of an adventure.
I love this kind of pictures.
Andre du Plessis  Hi Biege. Yes, it certainly was the start for me, and I am enjoying the journey, and hope that it is very long. This image was the start of digital for me after years of absence from photography. See some of my Kannemeyer shots in my PF (Father and Son) to get the story behind this image. Regards, Andre

Excellent composition with layer of interest, mood and depth. If this is what 'not doing landscapes' looks like :) oh please keep them coming. My best,Phyllis
Andre du Plessis  Hi Phyllis. I liked this scene when I passed by, and simply had to stop. No possible faces around so it had to be the tree and bull. Looked so dull ever since, and as I am low on images i thought to give it a try at editing. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Andre

a very peaceful feeling André. I like the grainy aspect giving a special mood.
A lovely photo to look at for long, taking time to see each detail. Nature in all its beauty. Fav.
Andre du Plessis  Hi to you lucky people at the Alps - really like the softness of your last upload. Thanks for this. Did not quite where I was going with this one, but it 'sort of guided' me, and Whalla! - punchy scene.
MarieM  maybe the pure air from the Alps blew good luck, as it did for mine too ;)

Andre du Plessis  That's nice to hear Stefania. Thanks!

Looks like Tri-x 400 pushed at 1600 :)
Andre du Plessis  Still grappling my way through this digital noise stuff...
Tri-X was my film of choice since I started crawling. Cheers, Andre

Fantastic grain in this picture.looks really raw!I like it a lot.
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Martin. Glad that you like the effect - stil experimenting with grain, and not quite there yet.. Regards, Andre

Fantastic! Love the mood and the 'grain' :)
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Tim. I went a bit gritty here, as I principally wanted to gain in mood, and as the scene is so wide, thought that small details shall be pushed to the side. Therefore the choice of grain. Much appreciated.

J'adore la vache!! Superbe.
Andre du Plessis  Hi Judy. That little cow down there is actually a bull and is huge! He came closer a few minutes later, and I had to be very polite, as I had to clamber over 2 fences to get to this place, and that was 200m back. Thanks! Andre

Andre,

Another congratulations from me - scenery looks "vaguely familiar" to me!

Very strong mood here.

Colmar
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks Colmar. This is a small regional road between the N2 (at MossGas) and Gouritz River Mouth. Ostriches everywhere.

An awesome image, Andre, love everything about it! Really great work!
Andre du Plessis  Hi Codrin. Good to hear that you like this. I feel quite chuffed, as I am not really a landscape person,
but I just love the creative freedom that mono gives one:)
Codrin Lupei  A pleasure to see it again, Andre, this 'random images' feature rocks! :) This image is an alltime favorite! Hope that everything is well! Take care!

Andre du Plessis  Thanks Ricky. My post editing was aimed at creating some atmosphere here, so reading your correlation is hugely satisfying.

What a mood, man. Love this perspective, running into infinity.
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Balazs. Was quite a moody sky, and could not quite resist an attempt at landscape.
