That is a nice composition! Did you stayed there waiting for a runner to come by or it just happend?! Like it a lot!
Alex OBrien  I was walking past slowly hoping something would happen as the photo wasn't powerful enough by itself, and then this charming couple came along. :)

Well edited. You have your '1x eyes' in right now. Great to see that it got through ;-) Enjoy the D90, it's a great camera, but keep the casio around for those grainy moments . . .
Alex OBrien  Thank Jon! The D90 at ISO 3200 has less grain then my casio at ISO 100... :)

Honestly Alex, once you got it, you really "got it"! Congrats.. You have some good eye and talent!
Alex OBrien  Thank you very much Patricia, I think this little got it phase is down to a lot of luck! ;)
Patricia Sweeney  I think you have learned so much, and with so much enthusiasm, and with so much raw talent, (and patience) this doesn't surprise me at all..

Alex OBrien  Thanks again Patricia, your words are wonderful to read. :)

Alex,

I've just arrived here at the computer and here it is, up on the front page!

What did I tell you - I was SURE that we'd see more from you.

Well done and keep it up.

Moody and strong.

Colmar

Casio QV 4000? Yep, that's the proof that pro equipment is not necessary to take strong photos... glad to see it on front page.
Alex OBrien  Thank you kindly Balazs, I'll admit, I just bought a D90 yesterday, going from 4,1 megapixels to 12,3 is quite a change, but one I'm sure I can get used to. Spent two hours just zooming to look at the pixels full size yesterday.
Zaahir Essa  d90?!? i remember reading your forum posts about possibly only affording some second hand d40 or something! :D i guess i got the wrong impression, ANYWAY, have fun with the camera, i envy you! great image here and building up your gallery strongly :)
Alex OBrien  Hey! I went five months without lunch, working and training on an empty stomach so I could afford this! ;)
I'll admit, I spent a whole day with the camera on manual focus, got back home and everything was blurry. Thanks again Zaahir! :)
Zaahir Essa  haha yeh, i know the feeling...i sorted it all out with a bit of target practice :D get the lens with the widest aperture you have, and shoot anything and everything. i used a 50mm @ f/2 like rapidfire, and i must say im now a pretty good marksman ;) find target, aim, focus, fire....all in under 2sec, and perfect focus :P im glad i did that, as all i have now is film...no delete button :P

i hope to chat to you more about the d90 in the future, since i've been planning on getting that when i can afford it, but a solid film camera with extra lenses is now looking like a better option, with a d40 or something as my digital backup for certain events :P cheers and enjoy!
Alex OBrien  I'll add you to my friendlist Zaahir, then we talk about the D90, although I have to admit I am probably not the best I will only sing it praise. ;)
I would love to give film a go.

Andre du Plessis  OK, then we don't have to be friends anymore:(
Alex OBrien  Haha because I really dislike you Andre. ;)
No, happy mistake! :)
Oh yearh. Didn't I tell you so?? ;-) Congratulations on the publish Alex.
Alex OBrien  Hey! I was going to upload this anyway! ;)
Thanks a lot Sebastian for your help (can I call you Alex?). Glad you like it!
Sebastian-Alexander Stamatis  I'm sure you were, but you were probably going to upload the square version, which would have been bad :-P
Sure, if that's easier :-P
Alex OBrien  I did upload the square version... rejected. ;)
Sebastian-Alexander Stamatis  Well, I'm glad they decided to give you one more chance with this one :-D
