Star Trails

It's very dark here, about 7.30pm, 45 minute exposure @f/4, but I'm confused why the sky become orange...anyway it's first I'm trying to shot star trail...thank you

I dont think the the orange is light disturbences in the sky form any city's or towns close by?

awesome capture,.I'm starting to love star trails, i'll try to shoot one-thanks for the inspiration,. How did u able to focus the shot ser? most of my night shots are blurred.!

Edy Santosa Very careful to focus in afternoon near pitch dark for camera able to focus sky or anything else, switch back to manual focus and don't change your camera tripod position & setting anymore, just wait until your decision to start push the shutter via cable release (in this case I'm start to shot one hour after sunset)...

apakah saat foto ini dibuat dilangit itu nampak bintang bintang itu kalau dilihat mata telanjang.
bagaimana caranya kita bisa bulb sampai 45 menit seperti itu ? max kamera kan hanya 30 detik ....trima kasih dan salam

Memang kalau mau ambil star trail bintang2 harus nampak tanpa terhalang awan atau light pollution by near city, atau dalam keadaan gelap sehingga bintang2 itu terlihat gemerlap dengan mata telanjang sampai bintang yang paling redup sekalipun agar efek star trailnya penuh dengan jalur bintang...
Kalo masalah bulb pake mode M (manual) om, geser slider sampai Bulb (slider setelah 30"). Bulb ini kan kita sendiri yang menentukan berapa speed yang diperlukan secara manual dengan push & release shutter, biasanya diperlukan cable release agar kamera tidak shake dan juga tripod, kalau gak bisa2 ruin your shot...
Demikian om, kalo ada teknik yang lain mohon share ke saya, soalnya saya juga baru dalam hal ini.

The orange is due to your CCD's sensitivity to heat (infrared). It gets worse with longer exposures due to the fact that CCDs dont "suffer" from reciprocity failure as film does (it's cumulative).

Really quite stunning, I think the sky became orange due to a combination of WB settings and light pollution. I quite like its orangey tint. :-)

Edy Santosa Yes, probably that's because light pollution, when I'm shoot this, my friend said that he saw a burst of red light up in the sky just a few second, but I didn't see...
