An appropriate photographic approach to this architecture!
(Habe heute in der Bahnhofsbuchhandlung das FotoMagazin mitgenommen. Wirkt sehr gut auf der ganzen Seite- noch mal Glückwunsch zum 1.Platz von 'Im Himmel'!)
KPK  Thanks very much Dirk!
Die Ausgabe des Magazins ist ja sowieso etwas Besonderes (60 Jahre fM). Der Titel "Im Himmel" ist übrigens eine nicht abgesprochene Schöpfung des FotoMAGAZINS, aber was soll's :-)

... I want to lower head and shoulders, this view includes distinctive perpective*. (*I don't know if you will understand shades of my pitiful English:) )
Very well done.
Congratulations.

Superb photo, not least because it conveys oppression and weight. I'd better not say anymore.
KPK  Thanks very much, Paul!

I like the style of constructivism in this photo, abstraction of geometric forms in 2d is perfectly performed.. Dynamic and literal composition is guiding the viewer's eye properly.. i like diagonal lines which establish the proportional balance in the frame..

Thanks for sharing..
KPK  Thanks a lot!

level from quake III arena :)

very great photo !
KPK  Thank you :-)
Never played Quake III.
I have no talent for architectural view, even though my sister is an architect fulling my mind with her visions. But I can say I like this one. Maybe because I have no idea how I can move in the room!
Good work Peter ;-)
KPK  Thanks, Kaveh.
What you can see is not intended to move there, or can you crawl on walls!? As recognized by Thomas (see his comment below) the image is rotated 90 degrees to the right! So in real you are standing in a corridor looking upwards! :-)
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Na siehst du? Ich habe keine gute räumliche Vorstellungskraft, bin nie besonders gut gewesen in darstellender Geometrie, eh euklidische Geometrie ist mein ding. Und ich brauche Symmetrien ;-)
KPK  Mathe war auch nie mein Ding. Symmetrien finde ich allerdings auch sehr gut (sh. z.B. einige meiner früheren Fraktal-Grafik-Arbeiten: http://freenet-homepage.de/kpk/gallery/kpkg8f.html :-))

Very interesting picture Peter but the subject odd, is this the structure or an exhibit within the museum? if it is the structure of the building then I guess I'll never understand architecture... :-)
KPK  Entirely it's the structure, but also part of the exhibition when you count the building as part of the exhibition. Daniel Libeskind, the architect, created a very complex and in some areas very strange and burdensome building to enhance what is shown in the museum and to give the visitor the impression of tightness, dangerousness, and fear.
John Parminter  Arhh, then I'll never truly understand or appreciate architecture of this kind probably.
Interesting though nontheless.

It is interesting how an image gets stronger by rotating it 90° cw.
The picture is for me nearly perfect, only the small triangular darker area at the right side ( 1/3 from the top ) is disturbing a little bit.
Overall, very well done, Peter !
KPK  Thanks, Thomas for your remark.
I can understand the hint regarding the dark triangle but with a color gradation in that area from light grey to darker grey the use of the clone tool isn't always that satisfying ... and cutting more of the right side off isn't an option here :-9
Thomas Holtkoetter  Fully agree on cloning and cutting, sometimes it is as it is :-)

I'll never forget the noise made by the dark room's heavy door closing ...

I love this shot, and I'm sure M. Libeskind would love it too !
KPK  Thanks a lot, Wabi!

Well, I have to say that although I liked and voted for the other one, this one really floats my boat a little more, it has immediate and quite striking impact, whereas the other is more subtle but equally beautiful. I visited this place in 2006 just before the world cup final and indeed tried to snap some shots very similar to this but in my usual style I made a complete mess of them, glad you did not. Love the shot. mal
KPK  Oh my, so many of the renowned members including screening crew members voted for the other image but it was nevertheless rejected ... as written in the critique forum: I give up to understand what's happening here at 1X in the screening process ...

I'm glad you like this one too. Thanks for your kind words, Mal!

I like this, but actually prefer the rejected one. It's so hard to predict what the screeners and crew on 1x will like, isn't it? Rejects should always be taken with 'a grain of salt' :-)
KPK  Thanks, Doug!
Good to have a homepage here to show all the rejected stuff :-)
