forgotten tragedy
This place has a deep story and big tragedy -
A catholic wife lost her husband at young age. The widow was in mourning and fell in love with her local pastor and got pregnant.
This never must not happened, she was in shame, the child was not wanted and she drowned it in a pool.
The women got arrested on grounds of capital murder and thrown in jail somewhere in the 60s.
Since the end of the 60s the house got abandoned and falled in a deep sleep since over 40 years! Unbelievable that since such a long time the place is still nearly untouched:
The furnitures, decorations, pictures, everything is still in place, it was an amazing experience to feel and catch this deep mood and the tragedy coming from this place. We will never forget about this unique day!
This is an impression of the living room, on the wall you can see a picture of the mentioned pastor - the windows over and over full of decades old spiderwebs.

Sven you are most popular of today GREAT So finally justice is done, my friend!!!!
Sven Fennema  Thanks Peter :)

I know a couple photos of a photographer of this house. It is just unbelievable how everything has remained intact after all these years after the tragic moment. I know the neighbors an eye to. I assume you are very quiet to make this beautiful photo could. I hope you have been able to photograph the bedroom, which is also wonderful how everything left.

Great! And a beautiful light! I hope more of you to see of this house! Very beautiful also your story!

Strange actually, here in holland house would never leave as long standing, so I find it doubly good that exists!
Sven Fennema  Thank you very much for your words Jeanette!
Oh yes, got up at 3:30 at night so that we could be there at 6:30, puh!
And we were very very quiet...it was so amazing, absolute unique moment in my life.
We were there for more than 6 hours, a photo from the bedroom is already finished, will publish here soon and hope it will get through - But not easy with this kind of image here.
But it's sad to see some of the furnitures are already stolen, also for the bedroom, the wardrobe, bedstands and the commodes are gone :(

Same here for germany, not so straight like in NL, but here also such things
get either demolished, or locked down heavily!

I agree a very good story and I really like the light. The desaturated color cast and dark lighting really seals mood.
Sven Fennema  Thank you very much, i appreciate this!

Are the flowers plastic, then? : )
Sven Fennema  Yes, they're all made of plastic and original made in the 60's....really crazy, all still with so strong colors, the plastic flowers seem to were very popular in Belgium. Saw such often already, we didn't bring something in or change.
