I've just invested in a Cokin filter set. Hopefully my landscape shots will come closer to this :)

Amazing capture...what brand of grad neutral density filter are you using. I'm about to buy one, but haven't decided which brand yet. Thank you!

John Parminter Cheers John, I only used one Neutral Density Graduated filter placed over the cloudy sky part to retain mood and detail there, the bottom 2/3rds has the clear part over it.
My filters are made by Lee using the Lee filter holder and attachment rings. I only use a 0.6 and/or a 0.9 ND grad in combination.
On this particular day it was overcast enough to use a desired shutter speed of 1/4 second to achieve the water flow I was after but had to select 100ISO and aperture of f22.
I am thinking about buying a 6 stop solid ND though for the occasions where I could do with a very slow shutter speed for open water and beach shots.
Any more info just give me a tinkle.

John Roshka Thanks a lot for your detailed description. I wanna buy a Cokin ND 0.6 filter, but can't find it on ebay, the original one. It is only on b&h photovideo but there are problems with shipping. Well, thanks a lot again.

Quite a dark mood for you. I like it a lot. It's less about the particular location and more about what's happening and how it feels at that moment.

John Parminter You are right Jon, it was a wet and windy day and quite challenging taking photos but I was on skye for three days and intended shots like this if the weather was dreich.
