I really like this Alexandre. It has a subtlety about it that is really honest.

Very nice framing Alexandre. The light on the peaks and the moon, which is exactly where it supposed to be... Cool stuff.
The only thing I could complain little bit it is the B&W conversion. I think you could spend some time on making this scene more contrasting. Try to play with blue, cyan and yellow or other "tricks" - it will pay off.
Alexandre Buisse  Hi KLi,
thanks for your suggestions and for your comment. I have actually spent a lot of time on the B&W conversion, and it was a deliberate choice not to go for more contrast. I wanted to favour richness of the tones over visual "pop", though I am aware that it mostly pays off in print and can be a bit disappointing when viewed on a computer screen.
Krzysztof Ligeza  Alex, with regards to printing - looking at your picture as it is IMO trees will be too dark and the sky just right. If you could try to get DR and similar contrast to your newer picture uploaded here... ;)

Great pic! /J.
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks Jacek.

Excellent photo Alexandre!
Nice texture in the mountains and you have placed that big moon very good in between:-)
It gives a really good impression of the rough nature and at the same time there is a wonderful calm feeling to it.
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks very much, Ulrik. It could be argued, though, that the moon mostly placed itself :)

Stunning image, Alexandre!
Alexandre Buisse  Glad you like it, Thaib.

Wow, this is why I love to be in the mountains.
The roughness, the grandeur......
Sadly the highest "mountain" in The Netherlands is about 300 meters high.... :)
Excellent job!
Alexandre Buisse  It's almost twice as high as what we have here in Denmark... Possibly the worst country where to be a climber! I have to take frequent trips to the Alps, the Andes or Alaska to stay sane :)
Larz  So actually we have to call Denmark "The Lowlands" :-)
Mmmmm, Alaska. Love to go there one day. Have to wait a while though, I'm guessing that it's not a very "travel-with-small-children" friendly country :-)

Very good shot. Like many others here, I thought of Ansel Adams. At what time of day was the photo made?
Alexandre Buisse  Thanks Thomas, I am very honoured of the comparison. This was taken shortly after sunset, which explains the really nice light.

A wonderful capture Alexandre!
How was your trip to the Galapagos?
Alexandre Buisse  I'll tell you once I'll have been there :) I'm leaving in a little less than a month, and will flood the frontpage with sea lion pictures around mid-June.

The scenery is splendid but you did a pretty good job of capturing it so well & having the moon there at the same time is I imagine the icing on the cake (so to speak). Bravo indeed!
Alexandre Buisse  Well, the moon was the reason I shot in the first place, and I was lucky to have a good vantage point and great light at the same time. Glad you like it.

Salut Alexandre,

Encore une fois du beau travail...
La profondeur de tons est superbe.
J'aime beaucoup.
(Je vois que tu es passé au D90...!!!)
Cordialement,
Henri
Alexandre Buisse  Merci bien Henri. J'ai en fait gagne ce D90 a un concours photo a l'automne dernier, et meme si je l'apprecie enormement, mon D50 me manque un peu :)

Lovely Codrin. I was there last week!
Super shot, and MOST impressive mono landscape.
Andre

Alexandre Buisse  Codrin?
Thanks for your comment anyway, it is most appreciated :)

Did you do anything fun while there last week?
Andre du Plessis  So sorry Alexandre - was viewing Codrin's pages before I checked the latest uploads.
Seriously did not think that I was writing back to him - your winter mountain scenes are your signature since
I have joined
Anyhow - yes - great fun. Snowboarding.
..or sitting on a**e is more like it.
Alexandre Buisse  Heh, no worries :)
We were probably there at the same time, too bad we learned about it so late...
Amazing... RAW earth, it dosent get any clearer than this.. Just breath taking!

Very cool Alexandre! Must have been amazing to walk there.
Alexandre Buisse  You have no idea :)
I have been going to Chamonix several times a year since I was born, and yet I am still constantly amazed by those mountains. I think it's fair to say that I am in love with them.
