what I think makes this shot is the background, the right to left increase in lighting and its contrast in abstract structure to the plant

Great lighting on the orchids. We have these in our office and i did a HDR shot of them a couple of years back and it really came through to me how certain flowers can hold a lot more detail and colour than just a simple photograph or indeed the naked eye could capture. I am going to shoot some of these flowers as soon as my UV film arrives....
