Paolo Giudici  Grazie Antonio, grazie mille. Tra un po' torna la primavera e le coccinelle ...

It almost seems like it's doing an ostrich-thing; since I can't see you, I'm not here =)

Great image.
Paolo Giudici  Thank you Pocket Universe for your appreciation, yes maybe it was doing that!

I really like this - wish the ladybug was facing me, but the limited dof, arrangement of elements, and color contrasts make this compelling nonetheless! Well done!
Paolo Giudici  Thank you for your appreciation, Doug. I like the colourful back of the ladybug, not the monstrous face! (I have started to appreciate macro here on 1x, but I still dislike insects too much ....)

Fantastic shot, tripod?
Paolo Giudici  Time 800, aperture 8, iso 220, no flash or other lighting support. There was a lot of diffuse light because the weather was sunny but the air was humid, it rained after an hour. Not a day to take photos of the sky and the sea.
Paolo Giudici  No tripod, this was at around 3 centimeters from the ground. I do not have the photo's data now, I will provide you with them tomorrow if I can, but there was a lot of light and I was shooting on manual mode with Auto ISO, this is a big advantage with the camera I use, since because of the large sensor and the relatively small number of pixels, you can go up with ISO without worrying too much about loss of quality.
David Saenz   Thanks for the Info Paolo...I was asking ´cause recently I´ve been thinking about buying my first macro lens and would love some advice...I´ve heard that the Nikkor 105 micro is a good starting point but apparently it has some issues with framing while focusing...Are you happy with the performance of the lens...or would you recomend another lens as a starting point...

Thanks!

Very nice composition and atmosphere. It really seems like the ladybird is taking a good nap covered by the daisy.
Paolo Giudici  Thank you Alessandro! I discovered that the ladybird liked to stay in that position after any climb. Maybe it was feeding, I do not know but I would love to know something more about the strange behaviour I observed.
Stefan Kremen  Or may be it was waiting so that you can make this wonderful "portrait" of it :)
I was also thinking about different name for this picture, as simple as "Hidden".
Good work, I like it.
Paolo Giudici  Thank you Stefan, yes you are right, the title is not particularly exciting and "Hidden" would have been better ... I was happy to have this photo and I immediately posted it without thinking too much about the title

Really nice, Paolo! Such a switch from your other contributions, and much appreciated!
Paolo Giudici  Thank you Kevin, yes in the last weeks the weather over the sea was not particularly dramatic, so I was forced to change my subjects. With the occasion I was also testing the micro lens.

Great capture Paolo...love the dof, light and colours. The ladybird could be asleep if the photographer would leave it in peace :))
Paolo Giudici  Thank you Charlie. The ladybird was going up and down any single flower in the garden, and when it was reaching the position I photographed, it was stopping for around 5-10 seconds. After, it usually tried to reach the top of the flower, 90% of the cases without success because it felt down!
