Night surrounds me,
As I sit alone,
In the indecipherable darkness.
I smell the noise of past.
.
.
.
They look through their rose-coloured glasses,
At the beauty of the world.

Wonderful photo! And the comment is just an opinion. So far over twenty people think differently, and have the mind to tell you that.
Don't let one person get you down. ; )
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Thank you very much Alex.
nope...no one can get me down. I just wanted that he knows he is wrong ;-)

Excellent! You've created a fantastic mood Kaveh.
Wish it was mine...

Now I know that you do night photography too, can I please come to your non-existent White hole and do a night shoot whit you? ;)

You gave me a great idea for my next night shoot.
I can imagine the scene already. A seagul sitting on a smiling kids head in a foggy surrounding at midnight. Hope it works out fine. :))
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  You wish it was yours? OK, take it- it is yours...too much wine though

you want to have a night shoot in my white hole? it isn't possible. There is only light and nothing else. But don't worry, to reach the white hole you have to travel first through the black hole and there you have all the aeon to shoot.

I like your idea. I like seaguls and smiling kids ;-)

Thank you very much Tim ;-)

Well said Kaveh. Your photogram has certain aroma and one might like it or not. But to be angry ? It is very simple picture and is up to one's imagination. I like it.
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Thank you very much Timor :)

That person should tell his/her opinion in my face. Then I'll show him/her that he/she is wrong. Some of anonym comments drive me crazy...
Angela Bacon-Kidwell  Just let it slide!
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  I do that must of time. I'm just a little sensitive against ignorants ;-)
Riccardo Monaco  Kaveh,

Since you requested that "That person should tell his/her opinion in my face. Then I'll show him/her that he/she is wrong. Some of anonym comments drive me crazy..." I have no problem saying that I am the "dear" one you called "ignorant" who wrote the alleged "nasty" and "angry" comment in screening.

I wish you posted the entire comment instead than a misquoted and brief part of it.

If I am not wrong, I made two comments: one general about the theme and one specific about the shot. First, I said why I voted against (I did NOT mention story.. the picture tells a story and it's moody, but has no impact for me.. is that too bad?) and then I left a more precise comment, something about "flat contrast" and a "too centered composition". No mean intentions. Just my sincere, polite and debatable opinion... where is the offense? Should my opinion be automatically motivated by nasty feelings simply because you didn't like it? How thick is your skin?

I wrote the comment in all honesty and if the Crew found it rude or inappropriate, could have deleted it. That's why we don't see comments in real-time anymore, so that Crew can filter them when they are deemed offensive. Since you read it, I deduct that, while not shared by screeners in its substance, it was considered neither nasty nor angry, like you called it.

I wrote about impact because I thought I had seen several similar (and great) shots already published here, and I did not think yours was particularly original or better executed. My reasoning was more meant for screeners than for you, as members are always encouraged to clarify why they do or don't want an image published. I did not like it and many others did. So what? Life goes on. You may agree or disagree, but not speculating about mean intentions or calling ignorant whoever dissents with you and/or a given majority. I find that a bit arrogant. An image does not automatically become a masterwork or "beyond critique" merely because of publication.
Riccardo
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  I have read your comment again and you are right. You haven't claimed about the story. It was an other comment coming after yours. Sorry for mixing them, I have read both as one!

My anger was mainly focused on the comment about the story. But I don't like two words: Popular and boring. And you have labelled this photo more boring and popular than a sunset. It wasn't nice and not the right time to say that. Today it doesn't make me sad!
And how thick my skin is? It depends how I am feeling at the moment. Sometimes thicker than mammoth's skin and sometimes without any skin. Maybe you have seen many similar photos like this and sure many of them are better and have more impact etc...But I hadn't any skin during the past two nights. I was smelling the past....
Riccardo Monaco  I do not recall having labeled your shot "more boring than seagulls". The parallel was a broader "seagull vs. lonely-figure-walking-a-lonely-road" rather a generic seagull vs. Kaveh H. Steppenwolf's shot. Please, let's cut it here and use oemail! :)

It makes me think of UFO.. probably not your intention, but I can't help it :)
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Actually not very wrong your thought! This person is one of my friends. We were talking for 14 hours that day about metaphysical phenomenons, mostly focused on musical apperceptions. After drinking 2-3 bottles of wine, we weren't really on earth anymore. He was afraid from falling into the pool behind the trees, so I went with him through the dark park. But suddenly the UFO came to pick us up ;-)

Thank you very much my dear Daria.
