Hello, Andre, I am particularly drawn to this wonderful photograph. I love the power and emotion of this scene. Is that a reflector midway down the wall? Is it always there? Did you add it? I am curious. I hope you have time to respond. I would enjoy hearing from you.

May your day be full of surprise and wonder!
Paulina Galvez, an Admirer of your work
Andre du Plessis  Dear Paulina - many thanks for your lovely comment! This breakwater is at the end of a beach, and the object is one of those storm flash lights. I guess mainly there to light up the section of water on the right, for those strolling around late evening. Not that such leisurely activities entered my mind this particular day. It was wild, and blew the sea flat. Immediately to the right and behind me are tall white chalk cliffs (like the Dover one's). I go to this place frequently, actually to a small hamlet close by. That when London gets a bit heavy..
Best wishes, Andre

I almost get vertigo looking at the sea in this picture - fab indeed!
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks for this, and sorry for the delayed reply:)

Love this pic, Andre, but where were you standing when you took this shot. On the other side of the railing closer to the edge ?? Eeeek !
Liz
Andre du Plessis  Gosh Liz - I really don't know!. It was quite recent, but it was so windy and unpleasant - I really can't figure this. Seems like I was hovering somewhere in mid-air with left foot on the pier....
I go back there once a month or so, and shall post you the answer next time.
However...thanks for your concern....Andre :-)

So dramatic! Amazing work there.

Those two further out the pier really look like they are soaking wet and freezing.
Andre du Plessis  Indeed they are, as well as the photographer out of view :-(
Pocket Universe  LOL, at least there must be some comfort knowing that the result was worth it.

Very well captured. You can almost feel the
power of the weather and the water. I love
the detail in the waves. Weereens, uitstekend
gedoen. Ek volg nou al jou werk vir 'n rukkie
en dit is 'n inspirasie.
Andre du Plessis  Lovely to hear that Bernard, and have put a marker on you, so awaiting more uploads! Groete, Andre
Bernard Frey  Don't hold you're breath. I'm one of those
very inconsistened photographers. Sometimes I
get it right, most of the time I don't...

Remember this shot in great detail - couldn't remember that it was yours though (must be because your S-A and street photos has become a strong trademark). Great great menacing mood, and best of all, in Pooch's word - with a bit of imagination it seems like a TV being chucked over the railing. A favourite for me this one
Andre du Plessis  LOL at Pooch's comments:-) I can never look at this anymore without smiling at the 'television set' being thrown into the sea by some kids. There was only one mention of 'disturbing objects' - I expected many more...
Many thanks for visiting again Tommy, and best wishes to you. Regards, Andre

that is excellent work Andre. that wave at the bottom makes it so vibrant. as if the water will start pouring out from the bottom of the photo any moment
Andre du Plessis  Thanks Koen. Nice when you 'other stuff' gets the OK. Also - someone managed to pull the image in time. Probably Jacob, as I sent him an OE mail. Many thanks for the suggestion. Now back to the H2O & lemon juice...

J'aime beaucoup l'océan déchainé, même si ce n'est pas une de mes préférées ! Beau cliché !
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks for the kind words. Also not quite my regular type of word, so both pleased and surprised
that this image was selected.
