Was it too cold this day in 1982 ?
I am anxious you took this picture and you shaked with cold.

Helmut Schadt Dear Yukako, yes it was quite cold on this January morning in Varanasi.
As in North India in winter time it can get very chilly.
But normally not so much as in Osaka I think.
I was prepared with a coat so I did not shake too much;-).

Fabulous, Helmut ! I see your explanation to Andre. sometimes i use also Fuji Provia and Velvia and convert it to B&W, but most of time i prefer Tri-X or Ilford. But allways prefer to scan directly from film, never tested with good results to scan from printed photo. This results very weel ! :)

So well captured. Really brings the 'feeling' over.
Was this film or digital, Helmut?

Helmut Schadt Andre, actually the original is a Kodachrome slide from 1982.
At the time when I started to upload pictures to the Internet I had no scanner for my slides and negatives. So I just used small size copies 10x15 cm and did scan it with a flat bed scanner. I found out that this "bad" technical quality did add a certain charm to this kind of photographs, especially when converted to b&w:-)
