love this Andre, you did a great job here with the light and i must say so did she:)
Andre du Plessis  Hi Tim. I originally framed much larger, but OE seems to prefer a tighter crop. The light was just 'right' - could not let the opportunity go, and she was already standing there!

An excellent and very charming picture Andre.
I know how pleased and happy these people are when they get a print;-)
Andre du Plessis  Hi Helmut. Thanks for that. Yes, they are indeed:). This particular family have quite a collection already. Regards!

Andre du Plessis  Many thanks for this. I have received a postcard from this little girl, sent with the assistance of her school teacher. She said that she is looking forward to receive 10 prints. One for the family, one for her,and the rest for her best friends.

Perfect. I like your pictures very much. The incoming light is just wonderful. Daylight I think is the most beautiful way for taken pictures.
Andre du Plessis  Hi Femke. Glad that you feel this way about available light as well - for colour or mono. I like the basic stuff about available light indoors: too much, lets draw a curtain, etc. Too little - hold up that newspaper there to reflect some light. Basic and nice and non-reproducable. Especially mono friendly, and colour hues do not matter that much. I guess that the most important piece of equipment remains the tripod. Thanks for your kind comment....Andre

Émouvant, rigolo, beau....
Belle photo!!!
Andre du Plessis  Thank you Clio. I cannot wait for my next trip down there to see if this wonderful little Celeste might be around for some new takes!
I did not create this image - she did. As I was leaving she was standing right there behing this fabric, and I could not resist a try.

very beautiful image in many aspects :-)
Andre du Plessis  Many thanks dodo. The challenge here was the light. This was recorded st 1/5sec. Luckily Celeste is an amazing impromptu model, and she kept very still. There are 3 gradient of light going from right to left, all with pieces of furniture, but I cropped the 3rd as I felt that Celeste will be too small in the frame given the limitations of upload size. Just very very glad that it saw publication....Best wishes, Andre
doro rapp  the light handling is extraordinary, as is the compo. yes, a highlight publication for sure for me!
Andre du Plessis  Doing low light environmental portraits is not someting that I intended to do, however, as most of the people that I photograph
live in houses without electricity, I had no choice. Just wish that I was more au fait with blending of layers and masks and gradients. At this stage I am still mainly dodging and burning, and selectively curving etc. But then, Rome was not built in one day.......Andre
