What a great photo. It's an odd experience to come across just what you've been looking for through your own camera, pulled off and wrapped with a ribbon by someone else thousands of miles away. Your coiled-spring photographer with her splash of color and her model prince charming, then the daisy-chain of other pursuits to the left and right (do I make out a wheel-chair on the extreme left?) which patiently reveal themselves... Even the bleak ugliness of the architecture and side-walk covering serve you, directing more attention to the people, isn't that so? Or do they stand out more because of your editing?
Deborah Fort  Thank you so much for such a wonderful comment! This was a once-in-a-lifetime shot for me - purely happenstance. Yes, that's a wheelchair on the left, and there's a bicycle on the right. I'm so glad you enjoy it!
A great capture with a very tasteful and subtle finishing.
Is it Dresden ?
Ciao
Alessandro
Deborah Fort  Hi Alessandro - thanks for the kind words! This was taken in Frankfurt.
I love your photography
wan amri  thanks....
Deborah Fort  Thank you kindly! Sorry for not noticing this earlier.

wow.. this is a great street!
you catched a lot of funny situations together.. it seems a movie!
I also like the treating of the colours, may I ask you how did you processed it?
ciao
Deborah Fort  Thanks!! Processing was a little bit of Topaz Adjust, probably the "portrait drama" setting, then reduced in strenght - too much and it looks cartoonish. Probably not much else other than sharpening and resizing - I'm not very good at editing!
Omar Biagi  thank you for the infos, I don't like Topaz, I never reached a good result which does not seems fake. yours is a great shot, with a perfect post production. congratulations again! omar

Debbie,

Just came here via your name when I clicked on it.

This is a lovely "essay" of a picture. Street shots generally seem to be black and white, but I must say that this particular shot looks wonderful in colour.

As I say - an essay in a picture!

Colmar
Deborah Fort  Thanks so much! I truly enjoy street photography - you never know what's going to happen next and this was just one of those moments I was delighted to be there with a camera!

What an interesting photo! Really different too to the other work of yours I have seen - how versatile you are!

I wonder if you were truly invisible when you took this? I often wish I could look, blink and take a photo with my eyes - this has just such a feel.

Great stuff!
Deborah Fort  Actually, I love to do street photography - it just doesn't always go over well at that other site. And yes, I tend to be pretty invisible, even when I'm standing right there with a camera to my face. Comes in handy!

"feel like watching drama movie"
interestingly enough to me it feels like watching a movie where someone (the underpaid script writer ?) gave all the actors the script for a different movie :-)

It's a fantastic photo. the title couldn't be better chosen. All those actions are so common and normal - okay, looking into a garbage bin isn't, but anyway - yet all of them together in one frame makes for a wonderful surreal and burlesque result. composition-wise it is also remarkably strong. from left to right, front to back, nothing disrupts nothing and nobody. As if someone meticulously planted them there, folded their bodies in the right angle, and then went on to take his picture.
Class photo. Makes me jealous. congrats
Deborah Fort  What an oustanding comment and analysis! I especially like the "gave all the actors the script for a different movie". Thank you very much! And I'm VERY honored to have made you jealous. :-)

This is downright surreal. Excellent work!
Deborah Fort  If I hadn't been there, I'd have sworn it was posed. But it's just life as it happened at that moment.
BlueRoom 3 years ago
A completely wonderful moment, as if the world has stopped and posed just for you.
Magnificent.
Deborah Fort  It does seem that way - I was very, very fortunate. Love when that happens!

Nice to see a street shot in colour. The guy looking in the bin really makes the shot for me!
Deborah Fort  I got lucky with him. I saw the young lady shooting her "model" and the timing just worked out perfectly! I did try this in B&W, but this is a rare occasion where color worked better, I think.

Deborah Fort  Thanks Joe!
I was exactly in the same place two hours ago! :)

Good one
Deborah Fort  It's a great place to people shoot, isn't it? Thanks!
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  Well I was not thinking to shoot people but running to hugendubel for going to WC :)
Deborah Fort  LOL!! Next time after the WC, shoot a bit. :-)
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  But I'm still having a problem. I don't shoot people! ahh, I had to shoot that woman who went to men's WC because she couldn't wait for the other one to get free.
KoPi  I don't like it either when they do that, but shooting her for it ? Surely a reprimand would have been enough ?
Kaveh H. Steppenwolf  surely I didn't mean shooting her while doing her work in WC. She thought nobody is there and as she saw me she was ashamed and her faceexpression was funny ;-)

Nice one, Deb! There are so many interesting things to look at in this image.
Deborah Fort  Thanks, Nathan. This is the scene exactly as I came upon it - nothing posed.
