Performance fits just fine. You really do bring out the best in the vibrance and elegance of Carnival - even in B&W!

Wow Stefan...thank you for sharing this with us...I have always wanted to go to Carneval !

I agree with Gerard...we can only imagine the colour here....perhaps Petra / Jacob would
consider publishing this in colour too as an exceptional gesture to you and us :))

Super...very well done !
Stefan Nielsen  Thank you so much Stephen :)

These costumes are amazing & to see them in triplicate is so unusual. Its like looking at one of those "spot the difference" images! I voted for this in screening & it seems it was only there for such a short time amazing! What was your decision to convert to black & white based on? I can only imagine the colours...
Stefan Nielsen  Thanks a lot Gerard :)

These costumes are actually black and silver and they just worked so much better in B&W.

...and this is from your trip :-))) Excellent compo and tones!
I'm curious..are these the columns in piazza San Marco? Where is the crowd?!!!

Andrea
Stefan Nielsen  Thanks a lot Andea :)

Yes, it was shot at San Marco under the arches at he Doge Palace.

The trick is to go there early in the morning before the crowd arives. The serious carnival participants know that the best pictures are those without the crowd - so they come to San Marco from around 6 in the morning and the photographers meet them there. A thing to remember if you ever go again.

This was shot at around 7 a.m. and the only ones I had to struggle with where other photographers :)
