great capture!! compliments
i have a nikon d80, too...
what kind of nikkor did you utilize to take this picture??
cynthiann  I used a 50mm f/1.8.

I am behind a window and a black sheet with a hole cut through it for my lens. I am never more than 1 to 2 feet away from my birds when I take their picture because they don't know I am there.

I entice them with bird feed and have a branch set up several feet away so that they fly right towards me from that perch.
Demetrio Massimo Opinato  thank you very much for your answer!!
